Who Can Audition?

Any student enrolled in a public or private elementary, middle, or high school in Monongalia County may try out.  There will be up to five elementary school, five middle school and ten high school contestants selected to compete in Mohigan Idol.

How Do I Audition?

Due to COVID-19 we will not be holding in person auditions this year.

Anyone who is auditioning for Mohigan Idol needs to fill out the online Contestant Information and Contract form . Filling out this form is not a guarantee that you will be selected as a contestant for Mohigan Idol 2021, but it will serve as your contract if you are selected as a contestant.

The audition tape will serve as your performance video if you are selected as a contestant.  Audition videos are due to us by April 10, and the contestants will be announced by April 12. Contestant performance videos will be available to view on the Mohigan Idol website on April 24 ONLY.

All performances must be FIVE MINUTES OR LESS in length; any performance lasting longer than five minutes will be cut off at the five-minute mark. No acts may contain any type of profanity, discriminate against an ethnic or religious group, and/or reference drugs, alcohol, or tobacco. IMPORTANT NOTE: All results will be final and will not be subject to discussion/appeal after Mohigan Idol concludes.

The Morgantown High School Student Council may use each contestant’s name and picture for purposes of promoting the event and then announcing the winners. Contestants’ pictures and names may be placed in newspapers, television news, radio stations, Mohigan Idol website, and social media sites created for Mohigan Idol to encourage monetary donations in contestants’ names.
